The Fourth Annual Red Shift
Festival of Film, Video and Animation will take
place from February 23 to 25 at
Anthology Film Archives in New York.
This year’s festival will showcase what Festival Director and Founder Yuriy Gavrilenko
calls “Transit Cinema”- movies created by filmmakers who work abroad,
outside of their country of origin. The works presented range from
bi-lingual travelogues to geopolitical essays to peripatetic narratives. Red
Shift hopes to shed light on the nuances that constitute everyday life
everywhere, and to celebrate the artist-in-transit's search for - and
discovery of - a common humanity in their host countries. |
